Librarians on duty: Creating space for harmed students

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The current US climate has caused heightened tensions on campuses. There have been many instances of blackface and other racist acts towards marginalized communities. Colleges showcase a desire to protect free speech, which translates into protecting and advocating for the harmers, not the harmed. This workshop explores how librarians can support harmed students inside the library as well as what collaborations would accomplish these goals.

I grew up in the Bronx. I can talk about it all day. I love the people, the food, the music, the languages, the religions, everything.
